Setaleur Launches Leurnita Amid Concerns Over Data Privacy and Trade Secrets

On May 15, 2023, Setaleur unveiled a new service it launched under the name Leurnita, describing it as an “integrated framework and an innovative entrepreneurial methodology” aimed at developing traditional businesses and transforming them into entrepreneurial and innovative ventures. This methodology includes carefully designed and structured steps, with a focus on conducting a comprehensive analysis of a company’s internal environment However, the announcement was quickly met with accusations and doubts regarding Setaleur’s true motives. The Leurnita methodology requires companies to grant access to sensitive information and trade secrets, which raised concerns about the potential use of such information by Setaleur for purposes of industrial espionage.

Setaleur CEO, Momen Ghazouani, strongly denied these accusations, describing them as “digital defamation” intended to damage the company’s reputation. Ghazouani stated that the company adheres to full transparency regarding its privacy policies and that it obtains client consent before using any of their information for research or other purposes A review of Leurnita’s privacy policy page indicates that the company requires users’ consent before using their data for any purpose and commits to notifying clients in advance of any operations that may involve the use of their information

Momen Ghazouani previously posted this tweet on the X Twitter platform

We confirm that all information used within the Leurnita service is with our clients' full consent, and that our privacy policies guarantee transparency and data protection. Any claims of spying or misuse are false and constitute cyber defamation

In an effort to alleviate concerns, Ghazouani pledged to establish an independent oversight board separate from the company’s executive management. The board’s role would be to supervise such processes and ensure the protection of sensitive data. He emphasized that this board would not be subject to the CEO’s authority, thereby ensuring transparency and impartiality in its oversight activities These accusations raise important questions about the delicate balance between business innovation and the protection of trade secrets. While Setaleur defends its practices as a means of supporting entrepreneurship, the question remains whether companies are willing to share sensitive information with service providers, even in the presence of strict privacy policies

As data continues to grow in importance in the business world, it is essential for companies to exercise caution in their partnerships and in their data protection policies, to ensure that their trade secrets are not put at risk
