Researchers revealed that this agent can be compromised through a technique known as indirect prompt injection. In practice, this means that malicious commands can be hidden within ordinary web content such as a comment, a review, or a paragraph then executed automatically by the agent without direct interaction or code manipulation One of the main risks is that the browser could unintentionally grant access to sensitive data or execute unauthorized actions, such as opening local files, extracting passwords, or even activating a webcam. Users should handle sensitive operations such as banking or email through conventional browsers while limiting AI-driven ones to low-risk activities. The technical solutions are still early. One promising approach is the RTBAS framework (Defending LLM Agents Against Prompt Injection and Privacy Leakage), which combines reasoning analysis and contextual logic to minimize the chance of unapproved command execution.
